Amazon Pay provides Amazon customers with a secure, trusted, and convenient way to sign in and pay for their purchases on your site. Customers use Login with Amazon to share their profile information (name, email address, and zip code) and get access to their shipping address and payment method stored in their Amazon account to complete their purchase.
This guide provides details on enabling automatic payments for subscriptions or other regular payment scenarios by using the API-based integration called Amazon Pay and Login with Amazon, which provides greater flexibility and customization to meet your payment needs.
With the automatic payments feature, customers can pre-authorize payments for future purchases. This enables you to charge a customer's Amazon account on a regular basis for subscriptions and usage-based billing without requiring the customer to authorize a payment each time.
Amazon Pay UPI" refers to the feature within the Amazon app that allows you to make payments using the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) system, essentially letting you pay directly from your linked bank account by entering your UPI PIN at checkout, similar to how you would use other UPI apps like Paytm or Google Pay; you can use it to make purchases on Amazon or scan QR codes at stores that accept UPI payments, all through the Amazon app itself.
1: Amazon Pay and Login with Amazon are embedded directly into your existing website, and all of the customer interactions with Amazon Pay and Login with Amazon take place in embedded widgets. Hence, the customer never leaves your site.
2: The product consists of two parts, the Login with Amazon and the Amazon Pay services, which are technically closely related and run on the same platform:
3: Login with Amazon lets your customers become registered users just by signing in with their Amazon login credentials. Amazon Pay then transfers user information to you and lets you create a local customer account. Users that register this way are your customers, and you get the real customer email address and can contact them directly.
4: Amazon Pay represents a checkout that is fully integrated into your site through widgets that Amazon Pay provides you. In this Amazon checkout, which is part of your website, the customer chooses a shipping address and payment method they already have stored in their Amazon user accounts. Regardless of whether or not the customer previously used Login with Amazon, you can offer Amazon Pay as a guest checkout, a registered checkout with implicit account creation, or both. In the latter case, you leave the choice to the customer.
Unauthorized Access: Keeping the UPI ID active even though you didn't use it makes your account vulnerable to unauthorized access.
Suspicious Activity: If you suddenly lose your phone, tablet or laptop that you use to access amazon pay and you notice some suspicious activity, you should immediately deactivate your account.
Compromised UPI ID: You should immediately unlink or delete your Amazon Pay account to avoid unwanted transactions if your UPI ID is hacked.
Financial security: You can delete your UPI ID from Amazon Pay if you don't want any financial exposure.
App issues: Sometimes, application glitches like slow loading, crashing and freezing may lead to unsafe transactions.
Lack of update: Applications that don't update the customer about their recent activity or transactions. Make users lose trust and unlink their accounts.
Lack of customer service: If the customer service is poor and doesn't meet the user's needs, this negatively impacts the user's t in the application.
Using Amazon Pay and Login with Amazon, your customers can become registered users and check out with a few clicks, saving them from entering a lot of information.
Open the Amazon app on your preferred device that supports this application. Ensure your account is logged in and connected with the UPI ID you want to delete.
Tap on the three-line hamburger icon, which is on the top left, to open the menu. Select “Your account ", scroll down, and tap on the "Your account" option
Click the payment options to see all the payment options you use. Select the UPI ID you need to delete.
Select the UPI ID and click the option to delete or remove your UPI ID. Confirm to delete your UPI ID
After deleting, go to the payment options and check whether your UPI is still appearing. Log out and log in to ensure that your UPI ID is not still appearing on the account.

Before you are about to delete your Amazon UPI, consider below reasons
Make sure there are no pending transactions linked with your UPI. Deleting your Amazon pay UPI while pending transactions results in many complications and problems in the future.
If you linked your bank account with the deleted UPI ID, consider unlinking it before it causes any further issues.

On the pretext of sharing money with you, several scammers ask you for your UPI id and pin. While your ID is required if someone wants to transfer money to you, your UPI pin is not required. Furthermore, if you don't want to share your id either, you can share the phone number linked with the bank account or simply share the QR code linked with your UPI.
As with email passwords and phone lock screen pins, it is a healthy practice to change your UPI pin at regular intervals. While you should pick a set of numbers that are easy to remember, ensure it is not something as basic as your birthdate. Also, avoid saving your UPI pin on your phone because if your phone gets stolen, the miscreant would, have access to both your pin and your UPI app.

It is crucial to ensure no outstanding dues are left in your Amazon Pay Later account. Only after clearing the dues can Amazon process your closure request. You can check the same by logging into your Amazon Pay Later account. On the dashboard, you will find the due date and due amount.
If you have no balance left, you are good to go. However, if you have a balance, pay it off using your banking cards or online banking services.
Once you have paid off the outstanding balance, you can close your Amazon Pay Later Account by logging into your Amazon account. Once you log in, go to ‘Menu’ and navigate to the ‘Customer Service’ page. You can click here to go to the ‘Customer Service’ page.
On the ‘Customer Service’ page, scroll down and click the ‘Talk to us’ option. Next, select the ‘Amazon Pay’ option under the ‘Task Unrelated to Order’ section. Now select the option ‘Amazon Pay Later’ and then click on ‘I want to close my Amazon Pay Later account’.
Select the reason for your account closure and click the ‘Close APL Account’ option. Confirm that you don’t have any outstanding dues. Again, select the reason for closure and click ‘Submit’. The company can take 10 working days to process your request.
You shall receive a confirmation regarding the closure of our Amazon Pay Later account. You can always check and confirm if you can access your account. If you can no longer access your account, you can be assured the company has processed your request. If your account is not closed within 10 working days of submission of your request, you can contact the Amazon customer support team to close your account.
