What is the ZET FD Credit Card and how does it work?
The ZET FD Credit Card is a secured credit card backed by a fixed deposit, designed to help users build a 750+ credit score without needing income proof or prior credit history. To get the card, you book an FD starting at just 2,000 rupees through the ZET app. Your credit limit is set at 90% of your FD amount, and the FD continues to earn up to 7% interest annually. ZET reports your payment behaviour to credit bureaus, helping you build a credit score over time.
Who should get a ZET FD Credit Card?
The ZET FD Credit Card is ideal for three types of users. First, first-time credit users who want to build a credit history from scratch without needing a salary slip or existing credit record. Second, users with low credit scores who need 100% guaranteed approval to restart their credit journey. Third, existing credit card holders who want to improve their credit mix by adding a secured card, which can strengthen their overall credit profile. The card is lifetime free with no annual fee, making it a low-risk option for all three groups.
What is the minimum FD amount and how is the credit limit calculated?
The minimum fixed deposit to get a ZET FD Credit Card is 2,000 rupees. Your credit limit is set at 90% of your FD amount. For example, an FD of 10,000 rupees gives you a credit limit of 9,000 rupees. The FD earns up to 7% interest annually and is insured by DICGC up to 5 lakh rupees. You can top up the FD through the ZET app at any time, starting from 500 rupees, up to a maximum of 10 lakh rupees, which directly increases your credit limit.
What rewards and cashback does the ZET FD Credit Card offer?
The ZET FD Credit Card offers multiple cashback and discount options. Users get up to 20% off on Swiggy, Zomato, Instamart, and BookMyShow. There is a flat 5% cashback on Amazon Pay and Flipkart vouchers, and up to 15% cashback on vouchers from 80+ top brands. ZET Plus subscribers also earn a flat 2% cashback on every ZET UPI transaction. All cashback earned through the ZET FD Credit Card can be converted to cash and transferred directly to your bank account.
Can I use the ZET FD Credit Card for UPI payments?
Yes. The ZET FD Credit Card supports UPI payments through ZET UPI. You can scan any QR code and pay directly using your ZET FD Credit Card balance via the ZET app. ZET Plus subscribers earn flat 2% cashback on every ZET UPI payment, making it one of the few secured credit cards in India that rewards UPI usage. This feature helps users build credit while making everyday purchases at shops, restaurants, and online platforms.
What is ZET Plus and how does it enhance ZET FD Credit Card benefits?
ZET Plus is a premium subscription available at 3 rupees per day that unlocks additional rewards and protections for ZET FD Credit Card holders. With ZET Plus, users earn flat 2% cashback on every ZET UPI transaction, pay zero convenience fees on voucher purchases, and get lifetime validity on ZCoins with a higher monthly cap of 2,000. ZET Plus also includes real-time credit bureau alerts, cyber fraud insurance, and dark web monitoring to protect personal and financial data.
Why does my credit score appear different on ZET compared to other apps?
The ZET app displays your Experian credit score. Other apps may use different credit bureaus such as CIBIL, Equifax, or CRIF High Mark. Each bureau uses its own scoring model and data sources, which means your score can vary slightly across platforms. These differences are completely normal and do not indicate an error. For the most accurate view, check your score on the same bureau across platforms. ZET updates your Experian score regularly based on your ZET FD Credit Card usage and repayments.
Does the ZET FD Credit Card have any annual or joining fee?
No. The ZET FD Credit Card is lifetime free with zero joining fee, zero annual fee, and no hidden charges. The only costs associated with ZET are the fixed deposit (minimum 2,000 rupees, which earns up to 7% interest and remains yours) and the optional ZET Plus subscription at 3 rupees per day for premium benefits. This makes the ZET FD Credit Card one of the most cost-effective secured credit cards available in India for building a credit score.
Which banks issue the ZET FD Credit Card?
The ZET FD Credit Card is issued in partnership with three RBI-regulated banks: SBM Bank India, one of India's fastest-growing banks with 50 lakh+ customers; Indian Overseas Bank (IOB), a nationalised bank founded in 1937 with presence across India and four international markets; and DCB Bank, a scheduled commercial bank regulated by the RBI and operating since the 1930s. All three partnerships ensure that your fixed deposit is DICGC-insured up to 5 lakh rupees, keeping your money safe while you build your credit score.
How quickly can I get the ZET FD Credit Card after applying?
The ZET FD Credit Card can be activated as a virtual card within 10 minutes of completing the application process. The four steps are: apply via the ZET app, book your fixed deposit (minimum 2,000 rupees), complete a video KYC, and receive your virtual card. The entire process is completed within the ZET app with no branch visit required. A physical card is dispatched separately after virtual card activation.
Is the fixed deposit in ZET safe and is it insured by the RBI?
Yes. The fixed deposit backing your ZET FD Credit Card is fully insured under DICGC (Deposit Insurance and Credit Guarantee Corporation), an RBI subsidiary, up to 5 lakh rupees. The FD is held with ZET's banking partners: SBM Bank India, DCB Bank, or Indian Overseas Bank, all of which are regulated by the Reserve Bank of India. Your FD continues to earn up to 7% interest annually, so your money works for you even while acting as collateral for your credit card.
Can I top up my ZET FD after getting the card?
Yes. You can top up your fixed deposit at any time through the ZET app. Top-ups start from a minimum of 500 rupees and can go up to a maximum of 10 lakh rupees. Each top-up proportionally increases your credit limit, since your credit limit is always set at 90% of your total FD amount. Increasing your FD also helps keep your credit utilisation ratio lower, which positively impacts your credit score over time.
How does the ZET FD Credit Card help first-time credit users build a score?
The ZET FD Credit Card is specifically designed for first-time credit users who have no existing credit history. When you use the card and make timely repayments, ZET reports this activity to credit bureaus, creating a credit record from scratch. The secured nature of the card means approval is guaranteed without income proof. With consistent usage and on-time payments, many first-time ZET users have built a 750+ credit score within a few months of activating their card.
